Open Question: How much is too much to text?

For background: I’m in my mid to early 20s and I’ve recently been messaging an old acquaintance and we met for drinks and later exchanged numbers. We’ve texted since but I find myself stopping myself from texting. I really like him and he has a lot of the qualities I want in a long term relationship and I think about him all the time. But how much texting/frequency is too much?
