My Boyf is 33 and I’m 26.
He is not English and his English wasn’t great when we me met (4 years ago)
We’ve been together the whole time, it happened quickly with us. Very quickly. I’ve always been in relationships since the age of 15 (serious ones) when we met he said that in his time in England (which at that time was 4 years) he had only had two relationships both he said then where for 6 months, and they broke up as ‘they weren’t his type’ he says that with one of them he ‘took his stuff and changed his number’ obviously I assumed he lived with her.
About a year in to our relationship (we had just moved in together) he opened up about having one night stands and so on. I asked about his relationships previous to me and he said that the longest was 2 months (even though when we met he had said 6) he also said that they were just casual and that it was more a friends with benefits thing as he only wanted a sexual relationship at that time, wasn’t ready for commitment and they agreed. So I asked about the girl he ‘lived with’ he said he never lived with any girl just me. That he was never ready for that and the stuff he took was just stuff he left when he stayed over (which was 3 or 4 times as he didn’t like to get close) and that she left the key do he could get his stuff, she was aware that they were broken up but he changed his number after getting his stuff as he wanted no contact.
So now for some reason I’m confused. He has always said he had never lied to me.
But the stories don’t add up. Judging by what he told me in the beginning of our relationship and what he told me a year in. Which is true?
I should add I’ve met his family and friends which was big for him and I believe I know him well. I’m just confused as to what he says out first date and what he says a year in.
Open Question: Is it common to lie in the beginning of relationships!?
